Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Project Engineer to lead the engineering effort for our Air Combat Test and Training (ACTT) Department. As a key member of our Mission Systems team, you will be responsible for producing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and delivering air combat test and training hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering effort to produce, test, troubleshoot, repair, and deliver air combat test and training hardware
  • Serve as a point of contact to coordinate between engineering, operations, suppliers, and program management/value stream leaders
  • Drive efforts to mature and transition products to full-rate factory production
  • Facilitate root cause corrective action investigations and coordinate follow-on efforts to improve yields and reduce manufacturing time
  • Estimate, track, and communicate cost, schedule, and risk in support of program earned value metrics
  • Lead team to update, review, and release drawings and documentation
  • Coordinate writing and approval of change orders, engineering change proposals, and waivers
  • Innovate to improve technical solutions and process efficiency
  • Build strong relationships, effectively influence, and communicate with team members, suppliers, and internal and external customers
  • Manage multiple competing tasks while balancing priorities
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with the manufacture and production of complex Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) or Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)
  • Experience making decisions that impact cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Proven exceptional communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background as Control Account Manager (CAM) using earned value management
  • Experience with the integration, test, and production of military avionics or radios
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills and action-oriented problem solver
  • Preferred applicants will currently hold a DoD Secret (or above) Security Clearance
