Job Overview


The Food Service Supervisor is tasked with overseeing or delegating duties within the culinary operations, including inventory management, customer engagement, food preparation, and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols.

Responsibilities and essential functions may differ based on specific client needs and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organizes and assigns daily tasks to the food service team while monitoring task completion.
  • Educates and supports staff on their roles, proper food safety practices, and customer service techniques.
  • Prepares and assembles food items following established recipes and guidelines.
  • Ensures proper food storage in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Sets up work areas including preparation stations, service counters, and heating equipment.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and sanitizes work areas post-service.
  • Serves food to patrons, ensuring satisfaction and anticipating their needs.
  • Restocks food items to maintain adequate supply levels.
  • Follows all alcohol service regulations and verifies customer identification.
  • Maintains a high standard of customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, clients, and colleagues.
  • Exhibits a friendly, efficient demeanor while adapting to customer needs.
  • Complies with safety policies and procedures, particularly regarding food safety and sanitation.
  • Safeguards company assets.

Qualifications

  • Preferred previous supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Required prior experience in food service.
  • Must be able to achieve food safety certification.
  • Exhibit exceptional guest satisfaction skills.
  • Basic accounting knowledge and experience in inventory management are required.
  • Open to change, new procedures, and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to build relationships with guests and team members.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to enhance efficiency.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, meet service deadlines, and adapt to changes.
  • Consistently display professionalism in daily tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exemplifies excellent customer service skills.
  • Ideal candidates should be available for a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.


This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged periods of walking and standing.

Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
