Position Summary

Role Description

The Housing Assistance Specialist is responsible for evaluating individuals seeking support through housing assistance programs provided by the Jacksonville Housing Authority. This role involves managing client documentation, conducting interviews, and processing essential paperwork. The specialist collaborates with property owners to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates eligibility for housing assistance programs
  • Facilitates the leasing process for clients
  • Supports departmental operations and initiatives

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant experience or equivalent educational background is required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of housing assistance programs and social work principles
  • Competence in computer operations and software
  • Strong communication and counseling abilities

Includes dedication, customer service orientation, effective communication, responsiveness, teamwork, and adaptability.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a sedentary office setting.

Physical Requirements
