Position Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated and experienced Paramedic with a strong background in Advanced Life Support. The successful candidate will hold critical care certifications and demonstrate expertise in a variety of critical care transport procedures, including but not limited to airway management, medication administration, central venous access, and the interpretation of diagnostic evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage patients in accordance with established protocols
  • Provide advanced life support services in a secure and controlled environment
  • Prioritize safety during patient care and transport
  • Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing patient care
  • Engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Pursue ongoing professional development as per departmental guidelines

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree is preferred)

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Advanced Life Support (5 years in inter-facility transport is preferred)

Licensure: Certification as an EMT-Paramedic from the Virginia Department of Health or eligibility, along with AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications, and a valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements: Ability to securely fasten seat belts, manage the stresses associated with flight and medical transport, lift/push/pull up to 150 lbs, and operate in potentially hazardous environments
