Job Overview: Critical Care Paramedic

The Commonwealth of Virginia is in search of a dedicated Critical Care Paramedic with a robust background in Advanced Life Support. The ideal candidate will hold critical care certifications and demonstrate expertise in various critical care transport techniques, including but not limited to airway management, medication administration, central venous access, and the ability to interpret diagnostic tests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage patients in accordance with established protocols
  • Deliver advanced life support services within a secure environment
  • Prioritize safety during patient care and transport
  • Identify and implement opportunities for enhanced patient care
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Pursue ongoing professional development as per departmental guidelines

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree is preferred)

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Advanced Life Support (5 years in inter-facility transport is preferred)

Licensure: Certification as an EMT-Paramedic from the Virginia Department of Health or eligibility, along with AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications, and a valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements: Ability to secure seat belts, manage the physical demands of flight and medical transport, lift/push/pull up to 150 lbs, and operate in potentially hazardous environments
