Job Title: Adjunct Music Instructor - Percussion

The Adjunct Music Instructor - Percussion position is an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual to join our team and contribute to the growth and development of our students.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Teach private percussion lessons to students, utilizing effective communication and technology to enhance the learning experience.
  • Provide academic advising and support to percussion students outside of class, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in teaching and learning, ensuring a high-quality educational experience for students.
  • Collaborate with the Fine Arts Department to contribute to the assessment process, measuring and reporting student learning outcomes to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
Performance Measurements:
  1. Demonstrate the Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust in all interactions with students, colleagues, and the community.
  2. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations related to higher education, ensuring effective student services and high-quality customer service.
Requirements:
  • Experience: One to two years of related experience in teaching piano or percussion in a high school, university, or community college setting.
  • Education: Master's degree or higher in music from an accredited college or university.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and diplomacy skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Physical Requirements: The work is typically sedentary, with some walking, standing, and carrying of light items.

This position requires a criminal background check and the submission of three professional references.
