Position: Adjunct Instructor for Percussion Studies

Role Overview:
As a Percussion Instructor, you will provide private lessons and offer academic support to percussion students outside of scheduled classes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver private percussion lessons as designated by the department chair, utilizing appropriate technology for effective communication.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the field of music and stay updated on best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Fine Arts Department, contributing to the assessment process by evaluating and reporting on student learning outcomes as required to meet institutional objectives.
  • Adhere to the responsibilities outlined in the Faculty Handbook and comply with the College's Policies and Procedures Manual.
Performance Expectations:
  1. Exhibit the core values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
  2. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to higher education, thereby providing effective student services and high-quality customer service.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of one to two years of relevant experience.
  • Teaching Background: Proven success in teaching percussion at the high school, university, or community college level, with the ability to engage students effectively.
  • Education: A Master's degree or higher in music from an accredited institution.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A high level of trust and diplomacy is essential, along with courtesy and tact. The role involves significant personal interaction and may require motivating or influencing others.
  • Physical Requirements: The position is primarily sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, bending, and light lifting.
  • Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions typical of an office setting.
