Position: Adjunct Instructor for Percussion Studies
Role Overview:
As a Percussion Instructor, you will provide private lessons and offer academic support to percussion students outside of scheduled classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver private percussion lessons as designated by the department chair, utilizing appropriate technology for effective communication.
- Maintain current knowledge in the field of music and stay updated on best practices in teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Fine Arts Department, contributing to the assessment process by evaluating and reporting on student learning outcomes as required to meet institutional objectives.
- Adhere to the responsibilities outlined in the Faculty Handbook and comply with the College's Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Exhibit the core values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to higher education, thereby providing effective student services and high-quality customer service.
- Experience: A minimum of one to two years of relevant experience.
- Teaching Background: Proven success in teaching percussion at the high school, university, or community college level, with the ability to engage students effectively.
- Education: A Master's degree or higher in music from an accredited institution.
- Interpersonal Skills: A high level of trust and diplomacy is essential, along with courtesy and tact. The role involves significant personal interaction and may require motivating or influencing others.
- Physical Requirements: The position is primarily sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, bending, and light lifting.
- Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions typical of an office setting.
