Position: Adjunct Instructor of Percussion

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver private percussion instruction as designated by the department chair, utilizing appropriate technology for effective communication.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the field of music education and implement best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Fine Arts Department, contributing to the assessment of student learning outcomes in alignment with institutional objectives.
  • Adhere to faculty responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the College's Policies and Procedures Manual.
Performance Expectations:
  1. Exhibit the core values of the institution, including balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
  2. Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations pertaining to higher education to ensure high-quality student services.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of one to two years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Teaching Background: Proven success in teaching percussion at the high school, university, or community college level, with a demonstrated ability to engage students effectively.
  • Education: A Master's degree or higher in music from an accredited institution.
  • Interpersonal Skills: High levels of trust and diplomacy are essential, along with courtesy and tact, as the role involves significant personal interaction.
  • Physical Requirements: The position is primarily sedentary, with occasional requirements for walking, standing, and light lifting.
  • Work Environment: Regular exposure to a standard office setting.
