Adjunct Vocational Nursing Clinical Instructor

Grayson College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Vocational Nursing Clinical Instructor to join our team. As a clinical instructor, you will be responsible for teaching vocational nursing students in acute care and long-term care settings, as well as in the campus laboratory.
Responsibilities:- Teach vocational nursing students in clinical and laboratory settings, adhering to the supplied curriculum and current best practices.
- Facilitate clinical experiences to meet objectives and maintain positive relationships with clinical sites.
- Work collaboratively with the Vocational Nursing Department, adhering to faculty responsibilities outlined in the Faculty Handbook and College Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Provide formative and summative evaluations of students and clinical experiences to measure attainment of objectives.
- Assist with supervision of learning activities in skills lab and simulation lab.
- Demonstrate Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Place student success at the forefront of all decision-making.
- Utilize a range of learning resources, tools, and technologies to enhance access and student success in higher education.
- Embody the community college mission and faculty role in contributing to the technical and general education of students.
- Participate in professional development and stay current in both the professional field and teaching/learning best practices.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
- Minimum of three years of current professional clinical nursing experience.
- Previous successful experience teaching in an educational environment is preferred.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing.
- Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
- Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
- Ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead both faculty and students to achieve goals.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple assignments.
- Strong computer skills.
- Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans.
- Ability to meet physical requirements designated by clinical agencies.
