The Bilingual Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the medical and educational teams by providing essential transportation services for clients to various appointments. This role also includes supervising children during educational activities and field trips when not engaged in transportation duties. Success in this position requires adaptability, as daily responsibilities may shift unexpectedly. The individual must be willing to support the teams in any capacity necessary to ensure the well-being of the children in our care.

This role is designed to operate effectively under regular supervision while adhering to established procedures and compliance with agency, federal, and state regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitate transportation for clients to various appointments, including medical, legal, and social services; Accurately report children's behaviors during transportation to foster parents and the treatment team; Assist with transportation related to intake and discharge, including interstate travel for reunification with sponsors; Support the medical team with administrative tasks as required; Provide language interpretation for clients during community appointments when necessary; Supervise youth in educational settings as needed; Maintain professional boundaries consistently while supervising youth; Stay informed about trauma-informed care practices and participate in ongoing training; Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent; Bilingual: English and Spanish; Required Understanding of trauma and willingness to receive training in trauma-informed care; Strong organizational skills; Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; Capability to provide language interpretation services; Commitment to delivering compassionate customer service; Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail; Reliability in meeting time-sensitive deadlines and tasks; Proficient in computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and a minimum of 3 years driving experience in the US; must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance; Successful completion of a criminal history screen, including checks with state and local child protection agency registries; Documentation of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases or willingness to receive vaccinations, or seek an exemption; Alignment with the agency's Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
