About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Safety Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and review software and firmware to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Develop and implement software safety programs to ensure the safe operation of our products.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present safety assessment reports and briefs to customers and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in software safety engineering.
  • Experience with system safety engineering, software engineering, and firmware engineering.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DoD software safety programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
