The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a keen awareness of contemporary culinary trends. The Culinary Operations Leader will oversee kitchen activities, prepare meals, manage kitchen inventory, and collaborate with management to innovate menu offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model, consistently embodying the company's vision and values.
- Assist in recruiting non-exempt staff, including interviewing and facilitating pre-employment processes.
- Train new team members, set job expectations, manage shift schedules, and provide coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate new employees' performance while enforcing company policies.
- Contribute to achieving operational goals by preparing action plans, implementing quality standards, and resolving issues.
- Manage financial objectives by forecasting needs, achieving sales goals, and analyzing variances.
- Estimate food costs and adjust menus accordingly.
- Control kitchen costs through portion management and waste reduction.
- Develop and maintain product specifications and recipe documentation to ensure consistency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Support team development and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong leadership and business acumen with a proven record in operational management.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Experience in addressing operational challenges with clients.
- Excellent communication skills across various organizational levels.

- 5+ years as a Chef in a full-service dining establishment.
- 2+ years in a supervisory capacity.
- Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
- SERV Safe certification required.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of ingredients and their interactions.
- Expertise in food preparation and quality assurance.
- Creativity in recipe development.
- Strong organizational skills for managing schedules and inventory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
- Ability to gather and respond to guest feedback.
- Consistent positive performance record in previous roles.
This role involves working in a kitchen setting, which may include exposure to sharp tools, hot surfaces, and potentially slippery areas. The position requires standing for extended periods and may involve irregular hours, including holidays and weekends.
