The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is on the lookout for an Electrical Systems Engineer to assist the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily functions of the FAA Enterprise Network Services (FENS) Program.

FENS serves as the successor to the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) contract, which was established to deliver over 30,000 communication services to more than 4,500 facilities within the National Airspace System.

This program is dedicated to designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the FAA's next-generation communication platform, while also creating a dynamic, highly available, and secure enterprise network to support all mission-critical applications across the NAS.


Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Systems Engineer:
  • Assess existing site surveys to outline the scope of work for site preparation needs.
  • Conduct site surveys at remote locations for FENS site preparation requirements.
  • Draft the scope of work for facilities based on site survey findings and facility data.
  • Identify necessary FENS contract CLINs to complete site preparation.
  • Develop cost estimates for site preparation activities.
  • Review contractor site preparation proposals for accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate ORM PRPs for site preparation and installation of FENS equipment.
  • Collaborate with SSC/TSC/AT to implement risk mitigation strategies for FENS implementation.
  • Coordinate and schedule site preparation activities with relevant personnel.
  • Oversee site preparation and installation work executed by FENS contractors.
  • Produce periodic status reports.
  • Update Corporate Work Plan (CWP) data.
  • Revise facility drawings (red lines) for drafting purposes.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S.) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant design experience, or a Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Willingness to travel 25%-50% of the time.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust Suitability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.
  • Understanding of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, and RCAG.
  • Awareness of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) NISC IV.

Compensation:


The pay range for this position is $65,000 to $117,500. This range serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation. Factors considered in extending an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
