Heavy Equipment Technician

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Waste Connections. This is a unique opportunity to work in a family-oriented environment with a steady schedule and competitive pay.
Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other related components. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with a strong understanding of yellow iron and heavy equipment diagnosis and repair.
Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other related components.
- Conduct safety checks and periodic inspections on vehicles and equipment.
- Review, troubleshoot, and complete repairs identified on Operator Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Perform all work following established safety procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
Requirements:
- Minimum five years experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- ASE Certifications or equivalent welding qualifications are preferred but not required.
- Self-starter and motivated; ability to work successfully independently.
- Knowledge of yellow iron/Heavy Equipment is required.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Own and provide personal tools.
- Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
- Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.
