Heavy Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Carolina CAT - Construction. As a family-owned company, we value trust, integrity, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair construction equipment, including troubleshooting, removing, installing, replacing, rebuilding, repairing, and testing parts and equipment.
- Use miscellaneous resources and computers to reference parts, gather information, and enter data into record systems.
- Operate tools to disassemble and reassemble parts or equipment, clean parts with rags, cleaners, and power washers, and use test equipment to make diagnostic checks.
- Climb onto, under, and into vehicles to access all parts of the vehicle.
- Use overhead hoists, lift devices, forklifts, and other aids to move items off the vehicle and to locations for disassembly, repair, and reassembly.
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, oil changes, filter replacements, belt replacements, coolant replacements, hose replacements, and fuel system cleaning and refilling.
- Use welders to weld frames and wear strips, and power grinders to grind welds smooth.
- Lift, carry, and position rams to remove idlers, unbolt idlers, and remove them with overhead cranes.
- Use power washers and spray paint equipment to clean and paint vehicles.
- Reprogram equipment controllers using instruments and computers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the local language.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive bending tasks, and achieve required torque specifications.
