Position Overview:

As a Project Specialist within the Regulatory division at Virgin Galactic, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating essential processes to ensure adherence to regulatory standards pertinent to our spacecraft and operational missions. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the central point of contact for the team, ensuring that all initiatives are systematically organized, monitored, and concluded in alignment with project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders to create comprehensive project timelines, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring that objectives are consistently achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enhance communication among all project stakeholders and collaborators to promote transparency and efficiency.
  • Conduct project update meetings, preparing agendas and synthesizing information into clear and actionable reports.
  • Identify and monitor project risks, both technical and business-related, collaborating with team members to devise effective mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain organization of project artifacts, ensuring they are properly stored, shared, and easily retrievable by team members, while establishing traceability between documents and data elements as required by our regulatory framework.
  • Collaborate with data architects to continuously improve our regulatory model.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to prepare necessary data packages for documenting compliance activities.
  • Compile and prepare data packages in support of various licensing, certification, and reporting standards required by regulatory bodies.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork and collaboration skills in all aspects of communication, planning, negotiation, decision-making, and leadership.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and community partners.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the aerospace sector or a related field with a focus on technical regulatory requirements. Experience in flight, manufacturing, or maintenance operations within an aerospace context is advantageous.
  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Proven project management capabilities (Certification such as Certified Associate Project Manager/CAPM is a plus).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and oversee several concurrent subprojects effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in software applications including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Experience with relational database management or data modeling is a plus.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this full-time role is $79,300.00–$121,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience, considering internal equity. Additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses or long-term incentives, may be included in the overall package, alongside a comprehensive suite of medical, financial, and other benefits.
