Role Overview

As a Construction Project Supervisor at Esplanade Builders, Inc., you will oversee and coordinate all daily site operations, ensuring safety, adherence to schedules, quality control, and effective subcontractor management. You will serve as the vital link between the Project Manager and the on-site team, driving successful project execution and timely completion. Your leadership will inspire and mentor less experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, construction managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Oversee project setup, site logistics, and field coordination.
  • Create and distribute 2-3 week look-ahead schedules to subcontractors.
  • Review project documentation for feasibility and accuracy.
  • Conduct and participate in various meetings, including foreman, safety, and project staff meetings.
  • Perform daily site inspections to monitor progress and assist in future planning.
  • Ensure quality control of work performed on-site.
  • Communicate project updates regarding ASIs, RFIs, and material submissions.
  • Verify subcontractor compliance with their contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate necessary inspections with local authorities.
  • Identify and address safety and quality compliance issues.
  • Report construction progress conflicts to the project team for resolution.
  • Maintain a daily log of site activities.
  • Manage multiple job sites simultaneously.
  • Ensure subcontractors rectify any identified deficiencies.
  • Lead weekly subcontractor meetings to synchronize efforts.
  • Issue non-compliance notices to subcontractors regarding quality or scheduling issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Conduct job progress and completion punch list assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial construction projects as a Superintendent for a general contractor.
  • Experience in class-A office environments and occupied buildings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiarity with Los Angeles and Orange County regulations, including interactions with building inspectors.
  • Proficient in reading architectural and MEP construction drawings.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project for scheduling subcontractors and vendors.
