Job Title: Polysomnography Technologist III

Join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital as a Polysomnography Technologist III, where you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders in children and adults.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Polysomnography Technologist III to join our Sleep Lab team. As a Polysomnography Technologist III, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of polysomnographic procedures, including polysomnography, multiple sleep latency, O2 monitoring, and pCO2 monitoring. You will also be responsible for the application and operation of acute care short and long-term mechanical ventilation and the required advanced evaluation in the Sleep Disorders Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform polysomnographic procedures, including polysomnography, multiple sleep latency, O2 monitoring, and pCO2 monitoring.
  • Apply and operate acute care short and long-term mechanical ventilation and required advanced evaluation in the Sleep Disorders Center.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments via medications, assist with breathing exercises, and monitor physiological responses to therapy.
  • Evaluate effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress, recommending adjustments and modifications.
  • Facilitate use and maintenance of all treatment equipment and triage all home care-related questions and needs to the appropriate entity (physician, sleep center, home care company).
  • Coordinate treatment equipment delivery between the patient and their home care company.
  • Act as a liaison between the patient, home care company, and sleep center to ensure continuity of care.
  • Set up and operate devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment.
  • Manage artificial airways and treatment parameters.
  • Maintain department records and prepare tracings for storage.
  • Contribute to the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program in the institution and department.
  • Maintain CQI records for the lab.
  • Maintain supplies at a reasonable level and order supplies.
  • Process patient charge information.
  • Maintain equipment in a calibrated and clean fashion.
  • Distribute a Patient Satisfaction Survey to the patient or parent/guardian.
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Current OH license in Respiratory Care.
  • One year experience in Polysomnography.
  • Registry Eligible for BRPT exam.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved two-year Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Must hold a valid respiratory credential (CRT or RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • One year Critical Care experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related field.
  • Proficient in computer operations/technology.
