About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnography Technologist II to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our sleep disorder team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of polysomnographic procedures on patients with suspected sleep disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Polysomnography Procedures: Perform polysomnography procedures on patients with suspected sleep disorders, including multiple sleep latency, O2 monitoring, pCO2 monitoring, ECG monitoring, and esophageal pH monitoring.
  • Prepare Patients for Testing: Prepare patients for testing by explaining the procedure, applying leads, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Collect and Analyze Data: Collect and analyze data from polysomnography procedures, including sleep stage scoring and artifact elimination.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, psychologists, and other technologists, to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Maintain equipment and supplies, including polysomnography machines, electrodes, and other necessary materials.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement: Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate diagnosis of sleep disorders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field preferred.
  • Experience: One year's experience in polysomnography.
  • Certifications: Registered by Association of Polysomnography Technologists or eligible for registration within twelve months of employment.
  • Skills: Proficient in computer operations/technology, ability to lift up to thirty pounds, and ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
