Customer Service Representative

As a Customer Care Tech at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to both external and internal departmental contacts. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving and prioritizing incoming requests for notices of material transport, medical/surgical supplies, and patient care equipment. You will also be responsible for dispatching personnel and/or volunteer staff to fulfill transport and supply requests in accordance with departmental response service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provides exceptional customer service through all daily interactions with both external and internal departmental contacts.
2. Receives all incoming requests for notices of material transport, medical/surgical supplies, and patient care equipment. Prioritizes requests and dispatches personnel and/or volunteer staff to fulfill transport and supply requests in accordance with departmental response service standards.
3. Provides timely follow-up information to requesting departments regarding canceled transports, supply outages, and other supply or transport related problems. Also provides this information to the Supervisor.
4. Issues and credits supply items on the Lawson system in a timely manner.
5. Coordinates and fills routine supply orders for ancillary departments.
6. Answers phones and receives requests via the fax machine, call downs, walk-ins, tube system, and/or computer. Resolves customer issues, relating to order discrepancies, distribution of inventory/equipment, accurately enters computer data, and initiates, compiles and maintains necessary records and reports.
7. Serves as a Customer Care Technician I as needed.
8. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Associates degree and/or continuing education is preferred. One (1) year in a customer care related roll preferable in a healthcare supply chain environment including knowledge of patient related supplies, materials, equipment, and computer skills is preferred. One (1) year of experience acting as a Customer Care Technician Level 1 or related position. Knowledge of MMIS, Lawson or other related inventory system is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing. The ability to operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands is also necessary. The position may require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.
