We are seeking a Maritime Inspection Specialist to join our team at LMR Technical Group in Norfolk, VA. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of work notifications and repairs onboard Navy Vessels.

About the Role:
  • Conduct thorough inspections onboard Navy Vessels to validate work notifications and determine the scope of repair.
  • Identify interferences and special circumstances that may impact the planning process and work item development.
  • Document ship checks with detailed information and photographs on approved forms and upload them into the Navy Maintenance Database (NMD).

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • At least two years of education in a technical/vocational school, apprentice training, U.S. Navy, or equivalent experience.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, transit decks, and perform work on Navy vessels.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes (minimum 30 lbs).
  • Self-starter with strong communication and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Navy ship compartmentation and layout.
  • Ability to read, understand, and validate work notifications.
  • Comprehensive writing and communication skills for verbal and written findings and recommendations.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.
  • Knowledge of Navy Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Electrical systems.
  • 10% overseas travel expected; must be able to obtain a Passport, CAC, and/or DBIDs pass.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
