Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maritime Center Specialist I to join our team at the City of Norfolk, VA. This is an intermittent part-time position working 20 hours per week, with opportunities to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

About the Role

This role will support the overall function of Cruise and Nauticus events, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless operations. You will interact with guests, answer questions, and resolve issues in a friendly and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and interact with guests, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Answer on-site guest questions and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Accurately process monetary transactions and adhere to all cash handling policies.
  • Process admission tickets, membership enrollments/renewals/gifts through CRM software.
  • Maintain and update membership database ensuring accuracy.
  • SUPPORTS EVENTS BY STAFFING CHECK INS, MEMBERSHIP SALES, AND MAINTAINING LINES.
  • Support end of day sales reconciliation, contribute to preparation / closeout of tills utilized by Guest Services team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge necessary to understand basic operational processes.
  • Previous experience working in similar environments: guest relations, entertainment, or educational institutions preferred.
  • Previous cash handling experience, preferred.
  • Previous phone customer service experience, preferred.
