About the Role

Johnson Controls International is seeking a highly skilled Sprinkler System Inspector/Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service and repair of sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive service calls from our Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representatives and ascertain equipment/system problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Must have the ability to work alone and follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures.
  • Refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, and bulletins to diagnose and repair equipment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair of Sprinkler and Suppression systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer/phone skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and mobile apps and functions.
  • Ability to perform service work on all water-based fire protection systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Must adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Must be able to follow, read, and understand all safety requirements of the company and the customer.
  • This role does require an on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NICET certification is a plus.
  • Backflow certification is a plus.
  • Fire pump experience is a plus.
