Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sprinkler System Service Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service and repair of sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and respond to service calls from our Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customers to ascertain equipment/system problems and provide solutions.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software, systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, with strong organizational abilities, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Work independently and follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures to diagnose and repair equipment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the Fire Sprinkler industry, performing service and repair of sprinkler and suppression systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in computer and phone skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and mobile apps and functions.
  • Ability to perform service work on all water-based fire protection systems.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime to meet customer requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Physical ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NICET certification.
  • Backflow certification.
  • Fire pump experience.
