We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Head of Inventory Management to oversee our expanding operations at Higher Love Cannabis Co. This role is pivotal in managing all facets of inventory control, including inventory forecasting, auditing, distribution, and logistics. The Head of Inventory Management will ensure the effective use of resources and timely product delivery while upholding high standards and procedures, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring data accuracy, stock integrity, sales tracking, and compliance across all store locations.

This position will lead a team of inventory managers, coordinators, and associates, ensuring seamless operations and collaboration between retail and procurement departments. The successful candidate will monitor team members responsible for inventory management, receiving data, and processes across all locations, assisting with reports or diagnosing issues in our procedures to ensure accurate inventory results in alignment with compliance standards.

Occasionally, direct involvement with team members may be necessary, either on-site or remotely, as appropriate. Responsibilities will include overseeing the development and implementation of inventory training for store teams, working within tracking systems, collaborating with Loss Prevention teams to identify and resolve issues, reviewing product levels and insights provided by the team, and approving best practices for managing aging products and on-hand SKUs. Additionally, the Head of Inventory Management will support new product launches in stores, prepare reports for executive leadership, collaborate cross-divisionally, and develop and oversee audits and analyses to drive continuous improvement across all locations.

A successful candidate will be a trustworthy professional with exceptional analytical, data aggregation, and workflow analysis skills. The ideal individual will possess excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting and analyzing large datasets to formulate strategies that enhance inventory performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement all inventory-related initiatives.
  • Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly across all locations, delivering results and strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to build consensus on strategic objectives and operational plans.
  • Establish and enforce operational policies, standards, and procedures for the inventory team.
  • Travel as necessary to oversee operations in various markets.
  • Ensure compliance with all audits, safety, and security policies, adhering to state-level cannabis compliance regulations.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with other managers and interdepartmental leadership to achieve organizational goals.
  • Monitor aging products to ensure synergy between procurement teams and marketing efforts.
  • Lead a team of inventory managers, analysts, and deployable inventory staff.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • At least 2 years of experience supervising training, quality, and/or customer service.
  • A minimum of 3 years of retail experience, encompassing both front-end and inventory responsibilities.
  • Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniques.
  • Experience with Metrc is required.
  • Familiarity with cannabis inventory and experience with cannabis-related POS systems is essential.
  • An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to advocate for and implement process improvements within tight timelines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
