Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Can Filling Machine Operator is responsible for the operation and upkeep of Krones can filling machinery, ensuring the precise and efficient filling of cans with liquid products in our beverage production facility. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of quality for our canned beverages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Setup: Prepare the Krones can filling machine for production, including adjusting settings for can dimensions, fill volumes, and product specifications. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation before starting production.
  • Machine Operation: Oversee the filling machine during production runs to guarantee optimal performance. Load cans, manage the filling, sealing, and labeling processes, and make necessary adjustments to uphold product quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform routine quality checks to verify that filled cans adhere to established standards. Conduct visual inspections, measure fill levels, and ensure proper sealing to maintain product integrity.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve machine issues as they arise. Make minor adjustments, conduct basic maintenance, or liaise with maintenance personnel for more complex repairs to reduce downtime.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Carry out regular cleaning and maintenance of the can filling equipment. Ensure compliance with hygiene standards and perform preventative maintenance to keep machinery in peak condition.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of production and maintenance activities. Document production volumes, machine configurations, quality checks, and maintenance tasks to monitor efficiency and comply with regulatory standards.

Work Schedule:

Must demonstrate reliability, possess a strong work ethic, and be adaptable to a rotating 2-2-3 shift schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; or one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience. Previous experience with Krones can filling machines or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in various computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position include regular talking and hearing, frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, stooping, and kneeling. The role requires repetitive hand movements and coordination.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Additional Requirements:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must meet age requirements for handling and proximity to alcohol.
