Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and Coordinate Production: Directly supervise hourly employees, plan and assign work, and schedule hours of work to ensure timely completion of production and meet customer quality requirements.
  2. Monitor and Improve Processes: Monitor production on a routine basis, determining if any changes in methods or procedures are necessary to increase efficiency and productivity.
  3. Ensure Quality and Safety: Inspect quality on a spot-check basis to ensure product conforms to print and quality expectations, and ensure correct inspection techniques are being used during the manufacturing process.
  4. Manage Employee Performance: Train new hires and those newly assigned to their department in all relevant quality procedures and work instructions, and monitor employee attendance and tardiness to minimize absenteeism.
  5. Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Assure all employees adhere to safe work practices, wear safety glasses and any other required personal protective equipment, and report workplace injuries in a timely manner.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Two years of technical schooling or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment, or any combination of experience, education, and training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required to the satisfaction of the manager.
  2. Knowledge and Skills: Manufacturing processes, company product line, quality requirements, blueprint reading, and understanding of labor and time reporting system.
  3. Leadership and Communication Skills: Able to communicate to all levels of employees to assure understanding of work assignments, and leadership skills to effectively manage the workforce.
