About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to take on the responsibility of the month-end close process. This new role is fully remote, with initial travel requirements every other week for the first 6-9 months, and potentially monthly thereafter. The Controller will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company, supervising a team of three, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the company and their products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage the annual audit, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Handle trade accounting for chargebacks, promotions, and deductions, minimizing financial risks.
  • Oversee tax reporting, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Manage cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, optimizing financial performance.
  • Cost management, including inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS), to drive business growth.
  • Perform hands-on financial tasks and support the finance team, fostering a collaborative environment.
Requirements
  • Must have manufacturing experience, particularly with month-end close processes and inventory management.
  • Must have branded consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience, including trade accounting, rebates, chargebacks, promotions, and deduction accounting.
  • Proven track record in a high-growth work environment, with a strong focus on financial management.
  • CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong cultural fit: driven, proactive, adaptable, and entrepreneurial-minded, with a passion for financial operations.
