Job Title: Senior Portfolio Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Portfolio Manager to join our team at Southside Bank. As a key member of our Wealth Management department, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of policies, strategies, and initiatives to enhance investment performance and the investment/financial planning process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee portfolio management group and overall management/monitoring investment process
  • Analyze portfolios of prospective and current clients
  • Prepare proposals for prospective clients and/or client meetings
  • Oversee implementation of initial investment of new client assets and re-balancing of client assets in accordance with department and client investment policy
  • Meet periodically with outside constituencies on investment and financial planning related matters as necessary
  • Facilitate trades (fixed income, equity, and mutual fund) and complete compliance reviews as needed
  • Manage a book of business to include all account types, including investment management accounts, IRAs, and trusts
  • Manage client relationships as a relationship officer in conjunction with the Wealth Management & Trust Officers, providing exceptional service to clients and outside professional advisor partners
  • Focus on working effectively with prospective clients and those referring clients to us
  • Assist in resolving client investment and financial planning related issues, problems, and questions as an investment specialist member of our team
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve the goals of the financial institution
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, and/or a business-related field
  • Required 5 years of portfolio management experience
  • Professional designation(s) relevant to job duties is strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills and superior Microsoft Office skills
Necessary Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to define problems; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record-keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
