Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate and distribute invoices for all chargeable services and expenses, including hourly rates, milestones, and additional costs; ensure adherence to both departmental and client billing timelines.
  • Evaluate, interpret, and guarantee compliance with client billing protocols and standards.
  • Address both internal and external billing inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with attorneys or departmental colleagues to gather necessary documentation for billing purposes.
  • Manage the receipt and categorization of incoming payments with a focus on accuracy and reliability.
  • Keep clients updated regarding their outstanding balances and payment deadlines.
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive records of billing and invoicing documentation.
  • Adhere to the FNMA/FHLMC Attorney Fee schedule guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with CaseAware or comparable client case management systems is preferred.
  • Experience with lender and mortgage service billing interfaces and guidelines (such as BKFS, Tempo, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Teams, and Excel.
Education & Experience:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in billing/accounts receivable is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in legal billing, with a focus on real estate, foreclosures, and bankruptcy is strongly preferred.
