Spiritual Development Director Job Description:

Ladgov Corporation is seeking a compassionate and visionary Spiritual Development Director to lead our Catholic Religious Education Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive program to support the spiritual development of children, youth, and adults onboard military installations.

About the Role:

The Spiritual Development Director will be responsible for building relationships with parents, families, and the wider community, and for ensuring that all programs are coordinated under the direction of the Catholic DRE. They will also be responsible for providing training and support to volunteer teachers and helpers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer teachers and helpers in the Catholic Religious Education Program for children.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and families of students, including regular updates and information sharing.
  • Ensure preparation of certificates, awards, and presentations for students and staff.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with Chaplain Corps Staff, other candidates, volunteers, and military and civilian agencies.
  • Attend regularly scheduled chapel council meetings and other required meetings as directed by the Catholic DRE (Director of Religious Education).
  • Coordinate all programs under the direction of the Catholic DRE, including the Vacation Bible School program, and provide regular updates on program status and scheduling.
  • Provide initial and annual orientation and training for program volunteers.
  • Arrange teacher training sessions and other staff meetings as needed.
  • Be present at the Chapel during class hours to support administrative needs of students, teachers, and parents.
  • Collaborate with the Protestant RE coordinator on ecumenical projects approved by the DRE.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Catholic faith tenets and understanding of requirements for supporting children, youth, and adults onboard military installations.
  • Possess knowledge and experience as an Administrative Assistant.
  • Be an active member of a Catholic Community and have working knowledge in the Roman Catholic Faith, with experience working with the Catholic community.
  • Must be a practicing and confirmed Catholic, in good standing with the Catholic Church.
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in education or experience with Catholic children's religious education programs.
  • Have at least two years of experience as a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator or related field in education within the past 5 years.

Working Hours:

  • A minimum of 10 hours weekly must be performed at the chapel during working hours Monday through Thursday.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
