The Event Services Coordinator acts as a vital link between clients and various internal departments, including Food & Beverage, Lodging, Maintenance, Security, and Parking. This role involves providing administrative assistance, managing special projects, and ensuring timely and professional communication.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Events Manager in executing on-mountain, social, staff, and music events, including planning and organization.
- Support the Events Manager with on-campus promotional materials and distribution.
- Engage with guests to promote awareness of resort events and activities.
- Coordinate weekly events (such as trivia nights), which entails setup, teardown, attendance management, music selection, activities, and prize distribution.
- Assist the Communications Manager and Coordinator with daily snow reports, conditions updates, and liaising with external reporting agencies.
- Collaborate with Ski Patrol, Mountain Operations, and Lift Operations to ensure guests receive accurate information regarding operations and conditions.
- Contribute to the Photo of the Day initiative.
- Test snow conditions for accurate reporting as necessary.
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are essential:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficiency in writing reports and business correspondence. Strong presentation skills and the ability to respond to inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and the public. Knowledge of French is advantageous.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Competence in computing rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpreting bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Capability to address problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiency in using the Internet and Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills are essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical requirements for this position include the ability to ski or snowboard, as many tasks will be performed outdoors in winter conditions, sometimes on steep terrain. Summer responsibilities may also require outdoor work. Candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are typical for this role. Employees will frequently be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, and occasionally to wet or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The noise level is generally moderate.
