Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Del Mar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency in every dish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.
  • Develop and implement menu items, specials, and promotions to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct daily kitchen meetings to review menu items, specials, and promotions, and to discuss any issues or concerns.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels to ensure profitability.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the executive chef and other members of the culinary team to develop and implement new menu items and promotions.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are aware of and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of success in leading and managing a kitchen team.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
