The Audio-Visual Integration Engineer will play a crucial role within our international engineering division, providing a dynamic and flexible work environment.
Engaging with various client locations, you will leverage your engineering expertise and technical acumen to commission and integrate video conferencing and AV systems, alongside performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Operations team, project managers, and programmers to deliver fully functional integrated audio-visual systems.
- Interact with assigned project managers, client representatives, and all technical operations and engineering personnel throughout the commissioning phase.
- Review project CAD documentation for accuracy and communicate any discrepancies to the project manager.
- Support the project manager with regular reporting and manage client-requested modifications to project scope.
- Assist installation technicians and clients with on-site inquiries and clarifications.
- Configure unified communication platforms, AV over IP/fiber, and network switch settings for all AV devices on the network, including firmware updates as necessary.
- Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills for Microsoft Teams and unified communication solutions, including complete AV rack setups and custom system designs.
- Effectively communicate with on-site and remote IT teams to address networking and patching challenges.
- Collaborate with programmers for in-room control and audio DSP program setup and testing, utilizing tools like the Dante controller.
- Set up device EDID and conduct testing for point-to-point and multipoint video over IP/Fiber/HDbT devices across the network.
- Conduct field testing and resolve issues related to AV control programs and hardware configurations in accordance with design specifications.
- Complete commissioning quality assurance checklists, perform rack testing, and escalate issues related to installation, system design, control programming, and equipment.
- Manage and archive final control programs and audio DSP code on the project server.
- Provide training on AV and unified communication systems to clients.
- Audio-Visual solutions may encompass:
- Unified Communication Video systems such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco/Webex, Poly, and Google.
- Unified Communication cloud services including Poly RealConnect, Pexip, BlueJeans, Webex, and Starleaf.
- Control Systems like Crestron, AMX, Extron, and QSC.
- Audio DSP technologies from QSC, Biamp, and ClearOne.
- Video distribution systems including Crestron DM/NVX, Extron DTP, Kramer HDbT, and Aurora HDbT/Fiber.
- Wireless presentation solutions from Crestron, Barco, Mersive, Extron, and Kramer.
- Digital signage systems such as Brightsign, Evertz, VBrick, Barco, Planar, Samsung, and LG.
