Job Summary

The Audio-Visual Equipment Installation and Integration Technician is responsible for installing and integrating audio-visual equipment, including cables, routers, and switches. This role requires a strong understanding of cable flow and installation, as well as the ability to read and interpret wire diagrams and program proprietary equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Dress, label, pull, cut, and terminate cables
  • Install and connect video routers and switches
  • Identify cable types, including SVID, Composite, RBGHV, CAT 5, CAT 6, SDI, Fiber, HDMI, and DV
  • Mount and dress display equipment of various sizes, including wall panels
  • Program various equipment
  • Troubleshoot complex audio-video equipment
  • Manage inventory of repair and replacement parts, including recording serial model numbers
  • Complete and update daily reports, project photos, timecards, and project status
  • Partner with coworkers and management to provide world-class customer service to clients
  • Complete all assigned projects in a high-quality manner and in compliance with scopes of project assignment
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
  • Proficient with voltage meter, soldering iron, tone generator, multimeter, cable toners, stripping cables, and network cable testers
  • Ability to dress racks
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate reflected ceiling plans, elevation drawings, and room flow diagrams
  • Ability to identify and understand various source plates
  • Knowledge of basics of AC/D voltage
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ability to use various web-based portals
  • Ability to fit into tight spaces, including ceiling access panels, closets, interstitial spaces
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer programs and operate mobile devices
  • Ability to make sound decisions and escalate matters quickly and efficiently
Qualification Standards
  • High School Diploma, technical trade school, or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of experience in audio-video integration technical environment
  • Mathematical skills to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Physical Requirements/Working Environment

The primary working environment is an indoor medical setting. This role requires 100% travel to reach project locations. Employees working in hazardous conditions and areas are required to comply with all applicable safety provisions and use PPE. This position is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including noise that may cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is also subject to vibration and exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
