Position Details:

Department: Hospice

Schedule: Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with rotating weekends

Compensation: Starting pay at $18/hour, with additional shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration of medications to residents, adhering to their personalized care plans and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain precise inventory records of medications, ensuring accurate distribution and conducting thorough checks prior to administration.
  • Monitor residents for any adverse reactions to medications and report significant changes in their condition to the nursing team.
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, including transfers, ambulation, and meal service.
  • Engage in effective communication with the nursing staff to relay important information regarding resident care.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to medication administration and resident care, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Implement preventative measures as outlined in residents' care plans and report any concerns to the nursing team.
  • Respond promptly to resident needs and alarms, ensuring a safe environment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards to protect residents and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall care team.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in geriatric care.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of light objects, with occasional heavier lifting.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with residents and team members.

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Completion of Medication Aide Training in Wisconsin.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Wisconsin.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a dynamic healthcare setting, providing essential support to residents and collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals.
