About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Support Engineer to join our Enterprise Computing Global Support team at Altair. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will be responsible for providing dedicated support, troubleshooting technical product issues, and developing workarounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical support to customers, including responding to escalated tickets and developing workarounds.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison to customers, ensuring optimized usage of Altair's products through best practices, troubleshooting, and training.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Services, Engineering, and Marketing teams to develop working relationships and provide input on product direction.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify and resolve technical issues, and provide training and knowledge to ensure effective product usage.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent, or EDA/HPC System Administrator experience.
  • 5-10 years of EDA/HPC cluster deployment and support experience.
  • Strong computer science and systems-level knowledge, including networking, operating systems, file systems, high availability, and containers.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, including analyzing system and application logs, strace, lsof, gdb, and gstack.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Linux shell scripting.
  • Excellent communication, people, time management, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • C, C++, and Tcl experience.
  • Experience with workload management/job scheduling software in an HPC/EDA environment.
