Role Summary: In the capacity of Portfolio Manager, you will provide essential support for either our North County or South San Diego portfolios as we expand our operations. Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Delivering management assistance, including but not limited to...
  • Taking on the roles of Leasing Consultant, Assistant Community Manager, or Community Manager as necessary across the portfolio, typically to cover unexpected absences, vacations, or promotions.
  • Collaborating with the Regional Manager to address operational issues at designated properties.
  • Identifying property challenges and proposing effective solutions.
  • Supporting property leasing efforts to meet required occupancy targets.
  • Conducting site inspections and reviewing files at assigned properties.
  • Building positive and collaborative relationships with internal teams, supervisors, and residents.
  • Executing innovative marketing strategies for properties facing occupancy challenges by researching competitive marketing surveys and touring comparable properties to gather insights.
  • Ensuring timely responses and exceptional service for all resident work orders, including follow-ups to confirm satisfaction.
  • Guiding staff in the absence of the Community Manager or Assistant Community Manager.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of consistent experience in apartment leasing and property management.
  • Preferred experience in a supervisory or managerial role within multi-family housing communities.
  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Proficient in property management software; experience with Entrata is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to motivate team members positively.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time across the portfolio, including weekends.
  • Flexibility in work schedule is essential to accommodate community staff needs.
