About the Role

Matter Family Office is seeking a highly skilled Bill Pay Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for managing the downloading and payment of client invoices, communicating with clients and team members, and maintaining accurate records of client accounts and outstanding balances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the downloading and payment of client invoices
  • Communicate with clients and team members
  • Maintain accurate records of client accounts and outstanding balances
  • Monitor cash balances
  • Securely handle client data and payment information
  • Generate budgeting reports
  • Provide regular, accurate reports of billing data
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Create custom financial reports
  • Research and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with various projects and firm-related initiatives
Requirements
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills
  • Ability to think critically and use logic & reasoning skills to analyze alternative solutions and outcomes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in finance or accounting, or at least 5 years of experience as a bookkeeper, Accounts Payable, or similar role
  • Thorough working knowledge and experience with Quicken, Quickbooks, or similar technology required
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Familiar with CRM, and data storage/management tools preferred
  • Ability to quickly understand and gain knowledge of new technology tools
  • Understanding the importance of security policies and ability to recognize and proactively report suspicious activity
