Position:
Clinical Blood Collection Specialist
Job Type:
Contract/Traveler - 13 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood samples, following established protocols to ensure patient comfort and sample integrity.
- Communicate procedures to patients, addressing any concerns to foster a positive experience. Verify patient identification and obtain consent prior to sample collection.
- Accurately label and process blood specimens in accordance with laboratory standards, ensuring proper documentation and storage to maintain sample quality.
- Maintain a sanitized and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety protocols to prevent contamination.
- Document blood draws, patient information, and any complications accurately. Input data into electronic health records (EHR) or laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper calibration as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in phlebotomy.
- ASCP Certification required.
- BLS certification (AHA) required.
- Covid vaccination card required.
Work Schedule:
- Day Shift
- 5x8 schedule
- 40 hours guaranteed weekly
Compensation:
$25.00 per hour
