Position Overview: The Accounting Manager will report directly to the VP of Accounting, playing a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization. This role encompasses the oversight of the internal control framework and the financial closing process, in addition to managing account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, leases, property taxes, and payroll functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement internal controls and accounting best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of financial data to guarantee its reliability, accuracy, completeness, and proper presentation, while coordinating audit requests and requirements.
  • Manage the monthly financial closing activities, including the review and preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and various account analyses.
  • Provide accounting support to other departments regarding their accounting and reporting needs.
  • Oversee the asset management process, which includes accounting, maintenance, and reporting for fixed assets, leases, and property taxes.
  • Handle all non-income tax filings, budgeting, and regular analytical tasks related to business operations as necessary.
  • Offer accounting support for due diligence and integration efforts related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Review invoices and accompanying documentation for payment as part of the accounts payable process.
  • Complete additional assignments as directed by senior management.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, a CPA certification, and a minimum of five years of experience in large firm public accounting. Experience in accounting management and within multi-site healthcare or retail environments is preferred. Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software is strongly desired. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines, along with possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, and creative problem-solving abilities.
