About the Role:

Taunton State Hospital is a 62-bed inpatient facility that provides continuing care inpatient services to adults with major mental illnesses. As a Mental Health Worker II, you will play a critical role in our team, assisting professional staff in providing direct care and treatment to our patients. You will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans that promote recovery and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Treat patients with dignity and respect, advocating for their needs and preferences in all aspects of care.
  • Act as a role model for subordinates, demonstrating excellent work performance and strong communication skills.
  • Monitor patient activity, providing a safe and supportive environment for optimal stabilization and rehabilitation.
  • Work with patients on an individual or small group basis, delivering therapeutic interventions and promoting healthy behaviors.
  • Document patient progress, communicating effectively with supervisors and other staff members to ensure seamless care.
  • Supervise patients in their daily activities, ensuring a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
  • May provide direction and support to junior staff members, completing assignment sheets as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in treatment planning and care coordination to ensure patient-centered care.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, promoting independence and self-care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Monitor patient behavior, reporting any concerns to supervisors or other relevant staff members.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least one year of experience in providing direct care services to individuals with mental health needs.
