About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Worker II to join our team at Taunton State Hospital. As a Mental Health Worker II, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and treatment to adults with major mental illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist professional staff in providing direct care and treatment to patients with major mental illnesses.
  • Supervise and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and rehabilitative aspects of care.
  • Work with patients on an individual or small group basis through therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide a safe milieu for all patients by monitoring patient activity to promote optimal stabilization and rehabilitation.
  • Communicate patients' progress or regress to supervisors and participate in treatment plan and nursing care plan meetings.

Taunton State Hospital is a 62-bed inpatient facility that provides continuing care inpatient services to adults with major mental illnesses. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for our patients and staff.

Requirements
  • At least one year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in providing direct care service to the mentally ill, emotionally or physically handicapped.
  • Associate's degree or higher with a major in psychology, human services, mental health or retardation may be substituted for the required experience.
