Messer Americas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainability Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with our company's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive a comprehensive organization-wide sustainability strategy and objectives, while also driving business value.
  • Connect sustainability with day-to-day operations to ensure business value while meeting sustainability targets with flexibility and momentum.
  • Experience working with C-suite and senior leadership to communicate, influence, and drive program/initiative support.
  • Demonstrate a consultative approach to risk management, strategy development, gap analysis, prioritization, and planning.
  • Understand energy efficiency/sustainability strategies, corporate social responsibility, and employee engagement.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on ESG trends, regulatory frameworks, and best practices across various industries in support of sustainability strategy and related initiatives.
  • Experience serving as a strategic advisor on ESG issues and developing comprehensive ESG risk management strategies and/or programming.
  • Ensure communication strategies promote the company's sustainability efforts and report progress so that our sustainability performance is effectively positioned to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum 15 years of work experience; preferred experience in sustainability, climate change, risk management, and/or management consulting.
  • Up to 40% travel required.
  • Flexibility to work with a global team and multiple time zones.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
  • Master's in Business or MBA preferred.
