Covenant Medical Group is a prominent healthcare organization, employing over 300 distinguished Physicians and providers across a wide range of specialties in various locations.

Our specialties encompass cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, infectious disease, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedic surgery, primary care, pulmonology, reproductive medicine, rheumatology, sleep medicine, and urology.


Position Summary:


The Chief Financial Officer for Healthcare Services is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the financial operations within Covenant Medical Group.

This role includes direct oversight of General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Budgeting, and Reimbursement.

The CFO will report to the President & CAO for daily operations and to the EVP Finance for corporate matters.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial resources and ensure effective management.

2. Lead human resources initiatives and drive the achievement of strategic goals for the Financial Services Division.

3. Collaborate with medical staff and other stakeholders to enhance service quality for patients.

4. Facilitate the identification and provision of capital requirements.

5. Ensure timely submission of federal, state, and third-party financial reports as mandated.

6. Stay informed on economic trends and healthcare developments, assessing their implications for operations and educating the Senior Leadership team.

7. Provide visionary leadership, guiding the organization towards financial stability and growth while leveraging historical insights.

8. Develop budget planning guidelines and present budgetary and performance objectives to the corporate office.


9. Work with Risk Management to ensure adequate insurance coverage to mitigate organizational risks.


10. Supervise the analysis of costs, charges, and rates, making recommendations to support organizational financial health.

11. Prepare adjustments to rate structures as necessary.

12. Actively participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

13. Promote the desired culture and environment within Covenant Health.


14. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of financial performance by Product Line and provide strategic recommendations based on future projections.


15. Establish and uphold accounting systems that meet organizational requirements, providing accurate reports of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.

16. Evaluate information system needs to support financial services and assist in the development of new applications.


17. Review and analyze monthly financial statements and operational reports, making recommendations for cost containment and revenue enhancement.


18. Coordinate financial services with other departments and affiliated entities, serving as a resource for financial information processing.

19. Act as a liaison to corporate Information Services departments.

20. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:
Master's degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or CPA certification.

Minimum Experience:
At least seven (7) years of experience, preferably in a large, multi-entity healthcare setting.

Licensure Requirement:
No specific licensure required.
