About the Role:

Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Sales Director to join our team at S&P Global. As a key member of our Commercial Team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding our portfolio of Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) ratings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to broaden S&P's AIF portfolio across North America.
  • Identify upsell opportunities through insight-based sales strategies for complex clients.
  • Manage all commercial aspects of S&P's relationships with General Partners (GPs), Limited Partners (LPs), and Intermediaries.
  • Leverage communication and negotiation skills to gain user acceptance and optimize revenue.
  • Deliver insights on existing product functionality and explore new product opportunities.
  • Track customer and industry developments to identify opportunities and respond accordingly.
  • Utilize and maintain Salesforce data to monitor pipeline and opportunity status for revenue management.
  • Understand customer problems and identify ways to help clients address them.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing GPs, LPs, and Intermediaries to communicate S&P's value proposition and market positioning.
  • Provide market insights to senior management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver an optimized customer experience.
  • Develop and manage marketing collateral.
  • Prepare data and key insights for monthly reporting.

Requirements:

  • Established sales experience in Alternative Funds/Private Markets.
  • Ability to provide timely and premier service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze client information quickly and respond logically.
  • Extensive background in the debt capital markets.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in teams.
  • Proven record of maintaining strong relationships with capital market participants.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Desire to continuously learn and help others develop.
  • Strong expertise in the Alternative Funds business.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience at a rating agency, bank, or asset manager.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing/sales-oriented role with experience developing relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets and private markets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Private Markets (Leveraged Finance, Private Equity, Private Debt, etc.).
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Sustainable Finance/Environmental, Social & Governance.
