Position Overview

Inova Health Tower OR Unit is on the lookout for an Advanced Surgical Technologist to become a vital part of our dynamic, high-acuity, multispecialty operating room team. As the sole Level 1 Trauma facility in Northern Virginia, we pride ourselves on our diverse workforce and the complexity of our patient care, making the Tower OR a stimulating environment filled with opportunities for both professional and personal advancement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Advanced Surgical Technologist showcases exceptional expertise in aseptic and surgical practices, fulfilling the role of the primary scrub.
  • Proactively identifies deviations from expected outcomes and addresses patient needs promptly.
  • Exhibits leadership qualities and supports the leadership team.
  • Anticipates the necessity for unscheduled procedures or unexpected developments during surgical operations.
  • Recognizes safety risks and initiates appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT
  • BLS certification from AHA required
  • Surgical Technologist registration is mandatory
  • Eligibility for Surgical Technologist registration through the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of hire, with registration to be completed within 6 months of employment.
