About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perioperative Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior surgical technologists, ensuring they are equipped to handle complex surgical procedures.
  • Surgical Expertise: Demonstrate superior knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques, anticipating and responding to unexpected situations during procedures.
  • Operational Efficiency: Assist in the management of the operating room schedule, ensuring seamless transitions and minimizing downtime.
  • Quality and Safety: Recognize and mitigate safety hazards, promoting a culture of excellence and patient safety.
  • Professional Development: Participate in educational programs and share knowledge with colleagues, enhancing the skills and expertise of the perioperative team.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, with a degree from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with a strong background in aseptic and surgical techniques.
  • Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) certification, with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Registration: Eligible for Surgical Technologist registration in the Commonwealth of Virginia, with registration completed within 6 months of hire.
