Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a clinical leader and resource within the Inova Operating Room (OR).
  • Support the OR Service Leader in maintaining compliance with quality, safety, regulatory standards, and JCAHO requirements.
  • Assist in analyzing performance data and fostering adherence to established standards while driving continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the OR team.
  • Collaborate effectively with respect for other clinical disciplines.
  • Utilize clinical expertise to assess staff learning needs and readiness.
  • Exhibit extensive knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques in the role of surgical technologist.
Position Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT.
  • BLS certification from AHA is required.
  • Registration as a Surgical Technologist is mandatory.
  • Eligibility for Surgical Technologist registration in the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of hire; registration must be completed within 6 months of hire.
