Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the role
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) via NCCT
  • BLS certification from AHA required
  • Registration as a Surgical Technologist is mandatory
  • Eligibility for Surgical Technologist registration in Virginia at the time of hire, with completion required within 6 months
Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques as the primary scrub
  • Proactively anticipate the need for unscheduled procedures or unexpected developments during surgeries
  • Support the leadership team and demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • Identify safety hazards and initiate appropriate preventive and corrective measures
  • Assist in managing the daily operating room schedule by accepting and adapting to assignments as needed
